10 - War

The Exquisitely and Indefinitely Gorgeously Mighty Boa Constrictor is not one to mingle his teeth with lesser beings in this world. He was very careful to clean his teeth after a meal with toothpicks and floss. The only problem was that his memory was not very good, so he could not remember if he had flossed his teeth already or not, and normally came to the conclusion that he had because otherwise he would probably not have remember that he had done it and therefore be doing it all day long.

Because despite having a brain the size of an obese desert, it was also an extremely deserted desert.

Max was walking in a direction that was in exactly the right direction to find the Plate - if he wanted to walk across the inside-world of the big snake: forward. But he had found the direction all by himself and was intent on not being derailed on the path he had found. He did wonder why it had been so easy, though, and thought perhaps it was a trap. But he was too proud to reconsider so he just walked forward.

He walked straight into a massive war. The battlefield was a big, open plain with two massive armies facing each other. He beheld this fantastic sight and felt an urge to join as triumphant music broke out from each army. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers on each side started moving in a well-trained formation around the battlefield.

Max thought about what to do as the armies danced to the disco-version of Samantha Fox' "Touch Me." He could join one of them or he could just leave. He had not been spotted yet and could make it away from the plain without being seen. He would then be safe to continue his journey to find the Plate. He could stay and when time allowed ask someone if they knew where this Plate was.

The armies skipped, bobbed and bounced laboriously around each other in the bizarre ritual of Moaning To The Moon, even though the moon was not up yet and would not be for a while. Poking and peeking each other they caused fairly harmless side-effects like a corrupted memory here and an instruction jumping amiss there. All in all they moved in unison, although a rather random unison.

He decided to join the blue side. He stomped over to the red side and stamped his feet vehemently on the termite mound. The red side immediately gave up and ran away, while the blue side cheered loudly and clapped their forelegs in proper unison.

He asked the blue leader if he knew where the Plate was and suddenly the plain fell eerily silent. Just afterwards the termites fell just as eerily silent. Then they turned around and ran away and he was standing all on his own in a big plain with nothing to do.

Nothing except keep walking forward.
